Fifty

Maria never thought that she would see fifty. She had never been able to comprehend it in her youth, but suddenly, here she was, with fifty in front of her, right in front of her, staring her in the face and she did not know what to do, how to act. There was a stunning silence everywhere, as if the world had just finished exhaling.

Maria never thought that she would see God either. And in all fairness, although she saw fifty, God was nowhere to be seen.

About dcduell

Failed musician. Trying to write for TV. Never sure quite where I'm headed. Serial un-funnyman. I used to do a lot of writing. Sometimes I still do. So I decided to put it on the internet. I'm on Facebook and Twitter. Pretty active on the former, not so much on the latter. Holler at me.
